Motivational Monday #94: Knowing v. Connecting

Related imageWe know a lot. It's about connecting what we know to our clients & prospects though. Knowledge without connect is useless. It's up to us to ask great questions to find out the true needs/wants of who we are talking in order to connect them with the best of breed systems, concepts & resources that we have available to us. 
Related imageWhen we connect & bring value we have earned the right to ask for the business. I think we don't ask sometimes because of simply fearing rejection. You know the value you and our teams can bring, have confidence in that and go for it. It's what we do. We hear no more than yes...that is our chosen business. We press on, grow & make our outcomes happen.

  Hearing & listening are two very different things, though they may look the same. The results of the two can be very different.  When we minimize distractions and hone in on the singular goal of active listening we are one step closer to having a better understanding of the person on the other end of the table & connecting with them. Motivational Monday #51: Be GREAT at what matters

Sometimes when we are great and many things in life it's harder for us to begin something new because we rarely start at a high level. Our starts with something new are usually a little rocky at first and that may detour us from beginning because it may be a shot to our pride that we aren't immediately excelling at this new thing. My little bit of encouragement or reminder today is that YOU do have the capability to be GREAT at whatever you put your mind and consistent effort behind.  Think back to something that you truly love and are really good at right now...got it? Now think of how it was when you began. There is probably a vast difference. Now think about something that you started but didn't really pursue with intention. For me that's the guitar. I have one and I can play 6-8 chords well, but that is a very small sample of what it takes to master that craft. Because of this I don't play much in front of others. Motivational Monday #287: You Hold the Pen

You hold the pen. No one else does. Write the story for you and what you want to accomplish and who you want to become. This may sound though  because I know there obstacles that we face that are outside of us. We fight and grow to overcome those if we must on our way to our goals and growth. For today, I'm really talking about the obstacles inside of us or in our control. Are we doing what we know we can and then pushing ourselves as well out of our comfort zone, into our growth zone? (Because we know those two are not the same) It is vitally important to keep the pen in your hand as well. When a gust of frustration comes through, hold firm and let it pass; gather and continue forward. There will always be adversity, trials & bumps on the journey towards something of worth.
