Motivational Monday #334: Two Ingredients

Two ingredients I believe can change the way we experience life and the impact we have on others:

Optimism & Humility.

Optimism is choosing to look for what’s possible.

It’s believing there is something to learn, something to be grateful for & something good we can contribute...even when circumstances aren’t perfect.

It shows up in how we live.
It can be heard in how we talk.
And it becomes real through how we act.

But optimism becomes even more powerful when it is paired with humility.

Humility reminds us that we don’t have all the answers. That there is always more to learn. That every person we meet has something to teach us. It allows us to listen before speaking, remain curious instead of assuming, celebrate others without needing the spotlight & be confident without making everything about ourselves.

I think there is something special at the blending of the two.

Optimism says, “Something good is possible.”
Humility says, “And I can learn from the people around me.”

Together, they create room for gratitude, curiosity, connection, growth & joy. (who wouldn't want to be in that room?)

...and maybe that’s where real impact begins.

Not by trying to be the most important person in the room, but by helping others feel important.

Not by pretending everything is perfect, but by choosing to look for possibilities.

Not by having every answer, but by staying humble enough to keep asking questions.

So today, I want to challenge us to:

  • Live with optimism.
  • Talk with optimism.
  • Act with optimism.
  • Lead with humility.
  • Listen with humility.
  • Serve with humility.

Because a joy-filled life isn’t just about what happens to us.

It’s also about how we choose to show up for it & for the people around us.
